The sad story of Abraham Biggs. It is likely one of the most shocking things a person can see in their lifetime - a webcam suicide committed by a young man ‘live’ on the internet. The South Florida teens’ suicide live on webcam broke yesterday as details began emerging from various Internet sources late in the afternoon.
Biggs, of Pembrook Pines, chose to kill himself by overdosing on prescription drugs - in front of live people. He blogged of his plans to kill himself - and 12 hours later, he was dead. He took a lethal combination of prescription drugs Wednesday before his death was witnessed by several internet users.
Suicide note is here. An account of how it happened is here. Biggs was a regular user of Justin.tv, a lifecasting site, often transmitting the scenes from his life online, up until the final one. The video is here. The webcam demonstrated him lying in his bed at the time of his death.
Abraham Biggs Sr., the teen’s father, says of his now-deceased son: “He was a good kid.” A photo of a very much alive Biggs is here.
